Sèvres Porcelain Sugar Bowl with Bird Decoration - Eighteenth Century
A covered "bouret" sugar bowl in soft-paste Sèvres porcelain, decorated in polychrome on each side with birds perched on branches. The lid features birds in flight and a finial in the shape of a chamomile flower. Gilt wolf's teeth adorn the rim.
Marked in blue with the letter H for the year 1761 and the painter's mark of Jean-Louis Morin, who worked at the Sèvres porcelain factory from 1754 to 1787.
